When I woke up and saw the rain, I’ll be honest— I was a little nervous. I thought my clients might be disappointed or even want to reschedule. But they surprised me, and honestly, it made all the difference.
We started off cozy, capturing some sweet moments in the main bedroom. The light was soft, and the cuddles were real, making for the kind of shots that just radiate warmth and connection. After that, we decided to embrace the weather and headed out to a nearby park in their Northern Virginia Falls Church neighborhood.
The rain had turned the world into something magical. The greens of the trees were vibrant, almost glowing, and the bark was a deep, rich color that made for an absolutely beautiful backdrop. And those puddles? Let’s just say they weren’t for avoiding—they were for splashing! The family was up for anything, and the laughter and adventure really came through in every shot.
Some of my favorite photos of all time came from this session. It’s proof that sometimes, the unexpected days—the ones that make you think twice—end up being the most memorable. A little rain can make the ordinary extraordinary, as long as you’re ready to jump in, splash around, and see where the adventure takes you.
